DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Wednesday! Our forecast today is mainly dry and quiet, but we’re getting ready for our next weathermaker to arrive.Â
Temperatures will gradually warm into the upper 30s and low 40s this afternoon as clouds gradually stream in. Filtered sun will be possible early, but by this evening, clouds and gusty winds will increase. Temperatures overnight will be in the mid 40s.
Widespread rain returns to the region Thursday morning and continues throughout the afternoon. A few thunderstorms will roll through as well, with areas farther into southern Illinois potentially seeing a few stronger storms. Gusty winds up to 45 mph will be possible throughout the day.
Behind the rain, temperatures drop back to freezing, which may leave a few stray snowflakes Thursday night and some slick spots leftover by Friday morning.Â
