5 things to do this weekend across central Illinois July 17-19

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The weekend is upon us, and there are plenty of things to do and see across central Illinois.

Here is a selection of events, markets, concerts and more happening Friday to Sunday.

Warrensburg Corn Festival

The 10th annual Warrensburg Corn Festival kicks off for a corny good time.

There will be several activities for people of all ages to enjoy, including a car show, live music, a karaoke dance party, inflatables, a zipline, cornhole, a beer garden, a dunk tank and much more.

Downtown Prom

Downtown Springfield, Inc. (DSI) will host Downtown Prom to help give local establishments some love this summer.

The event asks attendees to dress their best as they can dine out, enjoy music and decorations, and celebrate at participating downtown businesses.

When: 5-10 p.m. Friday

Friday Night Live

Live from Downtown Champaign ... it's Friday Night Live!

Friday Night Live is a free street-side performance series featuring multiple bands weekly. Performances will take place at Main and Fremont, Neil and Park, One Main Plaza, and Market and Taylor in downtown.

Union Pacific Big Boy

Union Pacific's Big Boy No. 4014, the largest operating steam locomotive in the world, will make a stop in Springfield this weekend as part of the nation's 250th birthday celebration.
