DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Racing through obstacles for a good cause—helping raise awareness of veteran suicide.

The fifth annual Operation Obstacle is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Richland Community College in Decatur.

According to Richland's website, check-in and same-day registration will run from 8:30-9:30 a.m., with the welcome ceremony taking place at 10 a.m., and the race beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Registration is available online, and the cutoff will be 9:30 a.m. on race day.

Richland said this year, a non-competitive fun run will be offered to participants who prefer to jog or walk, or prefer to skip some or all of the obstacles entirely.

T-shirts will be available for purchase for an additional $20 during registration, with the cutoff on Sept. 14.

Operation Obstacle is a timed two-minute obstacle course race with 15 to 20 obstacles. Obstacles involve participants carrying and pulling objects a short distance and doing army net crawls, along with climbing over, under and through various obstacles.
