SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs is preparing to present the 2025 Gold Star Christmas tree Monday.
The tree, located at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library (ALPLM), is dedicated to Illinois heroes who died in combat.
Gold Star families in attendance will decorate the tree with personalized ornaments commemorating their fallen loved ones.
The tree lighting ceremony will be on Monday, December 8 at 1 p.m. at ALPLM. It will be available for viewing throughout December.
