(WAND) — Christmas is over, and the new year is almost here. If you have little ones and want to celebrate, a Noon Year party provides a time to ring in the new year without staying up too late.
In Decatur, the Children's Museum of Illinois will have its annual Happy Noon Year celebration from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with their balloon drop taking place at noon, dropping around 1,000 balloons.
Museum workers said this is their biggest indoor party of the year. Tickets are $20 per person/$10 for members.
The Children's Museum of Illinois is located at 55 S. Country Club Rd. in Decatur next to Scovill Zoo.
In Champaign, the park district will host its Noon Year's Eve Drop at noon in the Martens Center. The park district is looking for volunteers to help put on a good time. The event is free.
The Martens Center is located at 151 N. Market Street in Champaign.
In Springfield, the Kidzeum will host its Noon Year's Eve celebration from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Admission to the event is free with regular admission: children under 2 are free; adults and children over 2 are $12; senior citizens are $9; and if you have an EBT/LINK/WIC card, $5.
Organizers on their Facebook page said the event will include a performance by the Springfield Youth Performance Group, a sock-skating rink, crafts, science experiments, and more.
Their balloon drop takes place at noon. Kidzeum is located at 412 E. Adams St. in Springfield.
