CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — The Centennial High School Archery team is creating a "Field of Flags" on the school's front lawn on Sunday, November 10, the day before Veterans Day.
The flags will hang with a banner honoring veterans.
There will be a brief ceremony at 2 p.m., and the archery coaches said they came up with the idea as a team community service project.
On their Facebook, they are asking for help connecting with CHS alumni who are veterans. They ask community members to contact them at chargerarchery@gmail.com as soon as possible, so they may include those veterans in the project.
