CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Community members are invited to attend the Annual Boneyard Creek Community on April 18.Â
People can volunteer to clean up litter and remove invasive species at sites all over the community, including Scott Park, Kaufman Lake, Boulware Trail, and Heritage Park.Â
In 2025, the event drew 484 volunteers who collected almost 87 cubic yards of trash.Â
People interested in helping can register online by April 17 or onsite at Scott Park on April 18. Clean-up will start at 9 a.m. Volunteers will get a free lunch, music, and have access to educational displays at Scott Park following the clean-up.Â
Boneyard Creek Community Day is a collaborative partnership among Champaign County Design and Conservation Foundation, Champaign County Soil and Water Conservation District, Champaign Park District, City of Champaign, City of Urbana, Facilities & Services of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Farnsworth Group, Keep Champaign Beautiful, Prairie Rivers Network, Rotary Club of Savoy, Urbana Park District, Village of Savoy, and Champaign County Forest Preserve.Â
