Mother Road Festival

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Take a cruise back in time in Downtown Springfield this weekend at the Route 66 Mother Road Festival.

The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, and beginning at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28.

Friday festivities will include a cruise night to benefit Crimestoppers and live music from Lady Luck. 

On Saturday, there will be the Old Capitol Farmers Market, a guest appearance by Adrienne "AJ" Janic from MotorTrend, the Miss Mother Road contest, kids Power Wheels races, a burnout contest and live music from Rosie & the Rivets and Bon Journeyed. 

Sunday will consist of the Route 66 Mother Road Festival 5K foot race at the Old State Capitol plaza. Those interested can register here. A car show awards ceremony will happen on the main stage at noon.
