DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A longtime retail location in Decatur is preparing to close its doors.

The GameStop store near the Decatur Airport will officially close as of Thursday, according to store employees.

An employee told WAND News that staff members were notified of the closure Friday afternoon. The store’s shutdown impacts customers with existing orders and services already in progress.

A sign posted on the door of the business states that any pre-orders or reservations made at the Decatur location will be transferred to the GameStop store on Prospect Avenue in Champaign. Customers will still be able to access their orders at the Champaign location once they are processed.

The Decatur store is also offering a coupon that can be used at other GameStop locations, providing customers with a discount following the closure.

No additional details about the reason for the closure have been released.
