The Danville Fire Department will participate in a statewide smoke alarm installation blitz in October. 

DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - The Danville Fire Department will participate in a statewide smoke alarm installation blitz in October. 

The City of Danville said that DFD will take part in the "Be Alarmed!" program from Oct. 19-25. 

Members of the Danville community will receive a no-cost smoke alarm installation provided by the DFD. 

The "Be Alarmed!" program has participating Illinois fire departments educating communities statewide on the dangers of fires in the home and ensuring that smoke alarms work as intended, according to the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance. 

Those interested in participating can schedule their installation online.
