DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - October is off to a very warm start with Decatur temperatures running 10.6° above average.
That's going to change, but highs will still stay above the average of around 70°.
Ahead of a cold front moving through the Midwest this morning, highs today will top out in the 80s again.
That front will bring scattered showers and storms to the area this afternoon into Tuesday morning. While rainfall amounts for most of us will stay under one-half inch, we'll take it.Â
It's been very dry since August 1st with moderate to severe drought conditions expanding across Central Illinois.
Highs for the rest of the week will be in the low-to-mid-70s with overnight lows dropping into the low-40s Wednesday and Thursday night!
