Woman arrested for 4th DUI in 1 year admitted to doing cocaine, heroin before driving

SAVOY, Ill. (WAND) - Deputies arrested a woman in Savoy who they said admitted to doing cocaine and heroin before getting behind the wheel.

On Tuesday at 8:39 p.m., Champaign County Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1300 block of Savoy Plaza Lane in Savoy for multiple traffic violations.

The driver, Larhea Ahmad, 49, of Champaign, showed signs of impairment, deputies said. They said she admitted to consuming crack cocaine and heroin prior to driving. She was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, driving on a revoked driver’s license, and possession of a controlled substance, among other offenses, and taken to the Champaign County Jail.

This is the fourth DUI arrest for Ahmad this year. She was last arrested for DUI on July 16, 2026 and is currently on probation in Champaign County for DUI.
