DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Macon County law enforcement needs the public's help in finding the driver who hit a man with their vehicle and then drove away.Â
According to the Macon County Sheriff's Office, on Sunday at 6:30 p.m., Ameren workers were in the area of Turpin Road and South Shores Drive when a truck driving northbound hit a worker and then drove away.
"The man was severely injured," said Lt. Scott Flannery.
The vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is described as a white Ford pickup with black lettering on the side and back. Lt. Flannery told WAND News the truck should have damage on the front passenger side.
"We're asking the community if they know anybody or have seen the vehicle, to call the sheriff's office and hopefully we can find some justice for this man," he said.
According to MCSO, the Ameren truck had its lights on and cones placed around it.
