FORSYTH, Ill. (WAND) — As the weather gets warmer, motorcyclists are breaking out their bikes and getting ready to hit the road. All drivers must stay alert this season.
Donnie Hampsmire, a sales associate with Coziahr Harley-Davidson, wanted to remind drivers of the "Look Twice, Save a Life" campaign.
"With a motorcycle having a smaller profile than what a car has, they slide into your blind spot, and it's a lot harder to see. As a driver, you have to be more mindful this time of the year to be looking in your blind spots. And as a motorcyclist, you need to make sure that you're not staying in somebody's blind spot," he said.
He said part of being a proactive rider is a pre-ride check. Hampsmire said to remember the acronym TCLOCK:Â tires, controls, lighting, oils and fluids, chassis and kickstand.
"These are all things that should be checked before you even go on a ride," Hampsmire said.
