MONTICELLO, Ill. (WAND) — Allerton Park and Retreat Center is celebrating its first accessible woodland trail on Oct. 22 with a free coffee from Moon Bean Coffee while exploring the quarter mile path.
Organizers ask the public to join them for a "Community Coffee in the Wandering Woods" on Oct. 22. The free event takes place from 8-11 a.m. No registration is required.
The park also has new power chairs available for those in need, but they are first come, first served.
Organizers thanked the Friends of Allerton who helped make the path possible. They add the Wandering Woods will, "include immersive elements of a natural play area, completing a multi-generational, accessible feature to Allerton’s existing upland oak-history forest."
