DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — With garage sales and the general election coming up, the city of Decatur has asked residents to avoid putting signs, flags, and banners on the public right of way.
According to a post made on Facebook, city crews will regularly be driving the streets and will remove anything placed in the right of way including contractor services, business promotional signs/flags, and political signs.
The city also asks that items not be placed on light poles or traffic poles in the right of way.
Collected signs will be held for 30 days at the Municipal Services Center on 2600 N Jasper St. Call 217-875-4820 to retrieve any collected signs.
