MAHOMET, Ill. (WAND) - A Mahomet police officer came to the rescue of a bald eagle.
The Mahomet Police Department posted to Facebook that SRO Thomas came across a bald eagle that needed help on his way home from work.
Officer Thomas said, “This is my new partner... together we're gonna save America. It's a juvenile bald eagle I rescued from the side of the road."
Officer Thomas said he was able to get the bird safely to the wildlife animal clinic.
