SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The University of Illinois Springfield will co-host a special star party to view the Perseid meteor shower.
The watch party will take place from 8:30-10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Lincoln Memorial Garden in Springfield.Â
Those attending the event should park in spots available just off E. Lake Shore Drive, and the viewing will happen in Cawley Meadow, which is located across the street from the nature center.Â
Participants are urged to bring bug repellent, weather-appropriate clothing and lawn chairs or blankets for seating.Â
