MRI hosting “We are Advocates Empowerment Summit”

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Macon Resources, Inc. is hosting an empowerment summit.

MRI Human Rights Department & Behavioral Health Clinic will host its annual Speak Up & Speak Out Summit: We Are... Advocates on Friday, October 24 form 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Macon Resources at 2121 Hubbard Ave. for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The event will bring self-advocates, service providers, educators, and students together for a day of learning and connection.

MRI President and CEO Amy Bliefnick said, "MRI is thrilled to host such a great opportunity to further empower those we serve."

There will be interactive workshops and speakers. Leslie Pierce, Director of Human Rights at MRI said, "This summit brings people together to learn, grow, and stand beside one another in advocacy. Together, we're building a future where empowerment is lived every day."
