CLINTON, Ill. (WAND) - One person is dead following a single car accident a half mile from Clinton Monday evening.Â
The DeWitt County Coroner shared in a press release that a vehicle was heading west towards Clinton on Route 54, and eventually skitted off the highway and into a wooded area on the north side of the road.Â
The driver was pronounced dead just before 7:30 p.m., according to the coroner's office.
The victim's name has yet to be released, and an autopsy will be performed at a later time.Â
