DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Celebrate Decatur's rich baseball history by checking out the Play ball! Sports Card & Memorabilia Show this Saturday.
Over two dozen sports cards and memorabilia tables will be set up at the Decatur Civic Center at 1 Gary Anderson Plaza on April 6. Admission is free.
Local group History of the Heartland is sponsoring the show, which is now in its second year.
“We created this card show as a reminder of the rich baseball history in Decatur. For decades future major leaguers played at Fans Field! This year we are thrilled to have vendors from Chicago, Central Illinois, and our local vendors,” said Ayn Owens the show director.
Vendors will be set up in the two meeting rooms in the lobby and in the mezzanine of the Decatur Civic Center. The merchandise will include Mike Wilcott’s kid’s packs, sports cards, bobble heads, collector pieces, some coins and more.
“We appreciate the response this show is receiving and plan to continue it and possibly add a fall show,” continued Owens. Attendees are encouraged to bring their cards and collectibles to make trades or ask knowledgeable vendors questions about their collectibles.
