DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -Â The Illinois Department of Transportation announced a resurfacing project on U.S. 36/Eldorado Street in Decatur, from Illinois 48/North Fairview Avenue to Church Street, starting Tuesday, April 9.
Other improvements for the $8.3 million project include upgraded traffic signals and sidewalk ramps.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction with traffic control signs, arrow boards and barricades directing traffic.
IDOT said benefits from the project will include a smoother driving surface and safer intersections.
The project is expected to be finished early summer of 2025.
Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
