SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Sangamon County Toy for Tots has announced its inaugural kickoff event for the 2025 campaign in Springfield.
The event will happen from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Scheels parking lot on S. MacArthur Blvd.
There will be a 16-foot white box truck, a canopy display, and Toys for Tots merchandise and materials for participating locations, according to the organization.
Area businesses and organizations that wish to be an authorized toy drop site can register online or in person at the Springfield event.
"Last year, our Sangamon County Toys for Tots Campaign distributed 15,963 toys to 8,112 children all right here in Sangamon County," said Master Sergeant Lee in a statement.
