Unit 4 Board of Education names new Principal of Booker T. Washington Elementary School

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) —The Unit 4 Board of Education has selected a new Principal for Booker T. Washington Elementary School.

Jacquelyn Teague will take over after a tumultuous year. Teague is currently the Assistant Principal at Washington Elementary.

She was approved by a vote of 6 "yes" votes and one abstaining vote.

Teague states, "I am beyond excited, honored and blessed to lead the work at B.T.W. STEM academy. It is critical we embrace the unique characteristics and learning styles that each child brings to the table and cultivating learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom."

She will replace former Principal Jamie Roundtree. Roundtree has since retained legal counsel after claiming he was pushed out of his job.
