DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur City Council is looking to add more solar panels at the Decatur Public Library and the City's William St. pump station. The two projects are up for a proposal on Monday night's city council meeting.
The proposed project is expected to save the city around $120,000 annually on electricity.
The city said it will not cost taxpayers money to put them up, and with a power purchase agreement, it is expected to save the city hundreds of thousands of dollars on power for the next 15 years.
City council meets Monday, November 18.
