Power outage, storm, fuse box

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Hundreds of customers are without power Tuesday morning following severe storms in Springfield.

City Water Light and Power crews are responding to a number of power outages with over 400 customers across nine circuits impacted, mostly on the north end of Springfield. That number was as of 10:40 a.m. The number of outages is dropping as crews work to restore power. Over 4,000 were initially without power early Tuesday.

CWLP said Electric Dispatch and crews will review damage and repair areas and work to restore power to all customers as quickly and safely as possible.

Major areas affected include:

-From Dirksen Pkwy. to N 5th St. and Monument Ave. S of Sangamon Ave.

-Area N of Lanphier High School

-Areas around Enos Park and Gehrmann Park

-Areas S and W of the State Fairgrounds

-Area around Capital Airport and N of Rt 4 to Val E Vue

Customers can view and track their electric service status from the outage map using their street address number and phone number on file with CWLP. It is available from the Outage Center link at CWLP.com at https://outagemap.cwlp.com/.
