Illinois Department of Human Services working to minimize SNAP error rate amid threat of federal funding cuts
The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently reported Illinois' error rate for SNAP benefits has reached 11.5%. State lawmakers are concerned, as states with error rates higher than 6% will start losing federal SNAP funding starting in Fiscal Year 2028.
