BUFFALO, Ill. (WAND) - One person is injured following a traffic crash in Sangamon County Thursday afternoon.
The Illinois State Police told WAND News that ISP Troop 6 responded to a reported traffic crash on Interstate 72 eastbound near Milepost 115.5 in Buffalo.
According to the preliminary investigation, a pickup truck's tire blew out, causing it to leave the westbound lane and enter the eastbound lane, driving off the road and into the woods. The left lane was closed at that time.
One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
At around 3:04 p.m., a separate driver not involved in the incident had struck the fire truck on-site.
The left lane was reopened at 3:41 p.m. and the right lane was closed.
