DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -- Firefighters are investigating a house fire that left two people without a home.
It happened just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday near E. Decatur Street and S. Stone St.Â
Decatur Fire Department said, when firefighters arrived they rescued a person from the home. They were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to a nearby hospital. They are in stable condition.Â
Firefighters said, the fire was in the kitchen and they quickly put it out.Â
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Decatur Fire Department but is not believed to be suspicious.
The American Red Cross has been contacted to provide assistance to two displaced occupants.
