HARRISTOWN, Ill. (WAND) - One person was taken to the hospital after a crash on Interstate 72 near Harristown Wednesday.
The crash temporarily shut down a portion of I-72 near milepost 131, according to Illinois State Police.
ISP responded to a two-vehicle crash near Harristown around 3:38 p.m. Wednesday.
Westbound lanes were shut down from 3:49 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
WAND News learned one vehicle rear-ended another as they tried to do a U-turn at milepost 131. The driver of the car that made the U-turn was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The other driver was not injured.
The driver who made the U-turn was cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Improper Lane Usage, ISP said.
