LOGAN COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - Associate Judge William G. Workman from Logan County announced he is retiring effective July 31. 

Judge William G. Workman was appointed Associate Circuit Judge in July 2014 and has mostly served in Logan and McLean Counties. He was reappointed as Associate Circuit Judge in 2015, 2019 and 2023.

Judge Workman graduated from Lincoln Community High School, attended Lincoln College and Sangamon State University. He graduated from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1988. He served as State’s Attorney for Logan County 1996 – 2000, and was an Assistant State’s Attorney for Logan, McLean and Woodford Counties.

Judge Workman is a US Army veteran.

He has most recently been the presiding judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit Veterans’ Treatment Court, a court dedicated to the rehabilitation of qualifying US service members who become involved in the criminal justice system.

The Circuit Court will be immediately contacting the Illinois Supreme Court for authority to fill this vacancy in August 2025.
