Two girls and an adult missing since a huge explosion tore through a Nebraska biofuels plant are confirmed dead, officials said Wednesday, as firefighters were still battling smoke and flames smoldering in the wreckage nearly a day later.

URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — An estimated 12 people have been displaced after an apartment caught on fire on Saturday night, the Urbana Fire Department told WAND.

It happened at 1401 Silver St. Firefighters responded just before midnight. 

All residents evacuated the building before the fire department arrived. Crews also evacuated the neighboring apartment buildings. 

The Urbana Fire Department says the fire was put out within 20 minutes. After firefighters searched the building, no injuries were reported.

The fire department is still estimating the damage.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which is unknown at this time.
