COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - Injuries are being reported as part of Interstate 57 in Coles County is shut down due to a crash.Â
The Coles County Sheriff's Office told WAND News the crash happened near milemarker 185 on I-57 south.Â
I-57 south is shut down between milemarkers 192 and 184.Â
Illinois State Police are handling the investigation. ISP said multiple vehicles were involved in the crash. ISP and IDOT will be diverting traffic off of I-57 South at Exit 192 (CR 1000N) for the next several hours.
ISP said people are injured but could not give exact details at this time. Troopers said at least two semi trucks were on fire.Â
WAND has reached out to ISP to see exactly how many vehicles were involved in the crash and whether anyone was hurt.
