DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A fifth child has died after a woman drove through an after school program in late April in Chatham.Â
The Sangamon County Coroner confirmed 8-year-old Bradley Lund died Monday. He was a patient at HSHS St. John's in Springfield.
Lund was injured on April 28 when a woman drove through a group of kids at the YNOT After School Camp. The coroner said Lund died from "multiple blunt force injuries" when he was hit by the vehicle.Â
The April crash has now left five children dead and five others hurt. Illinois State Police said a 44-year-old woman drove through a building at the YNOT After School Camp. The vehicle went through a part of the building before coming to a stop on the other side.Â
In addition to Lund, 8-year-old Ainsley Johnson, 18-year-old Rylee Britton, 7-year-old Kathryn Corley, and 7-year-old Alma Buhnerkempe were killed in the crash.Â
The driver has not been charged and ISP said she may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash happened. ISP did not provide what evidence led them to believe the woman had a medical episode. ISP previously said toxicology reports were negative for alcohol and controlled substances.Â
The crash rallied the people of Chatham with an outpouring of love and support during a difficult time of shock and grief. Vigils, charity events, fundraisers, and other events have been held since the April crash to bring people together and raise money for families and victims.Â
