SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A 77-year-old Springfield man is dead following a motorcycle crash on Monday afternoon.
The Sangamon County Coroner stated that the man was injured after his motorcycle hit a pickup truck near 9th Street and Carpenter Street in Springfield.Â
The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 3 p.m.
His name will not be released until family is notified.Â
The coroner's office said an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, and the death is under investigation.
