Urbana- Volunteers from Ameriprise Financial helped out at the Wesley Food Pantry on the University of Illinois Campus.Â
16 volunteers, who are advisors, employees and clients of Ameriprise Financial helped feed those in need by distributing food as part of the semiannual National Day of Service, in partnership with Feeding America. "We do this every year, we did this last year as well we have also done with the homeless shelter as well, we look for need in the community and that's what we do." said Doug Bushue, Wealth Advisor for Ameriprise Financial.Â
Bushue says they do this as their way to give back to their community. "One it's helps with our community, it's where we live, and it makes it a better place to live and I think it makes us all better people because we are giving back" he said.Â
The local group here is part of a group of over 9,500 Ameriprise Financial employees and clients nationwide that are participating in over 450 volunteer events in the month of November. Each event is focused on helping to provide food to those in need.Â
This effort is focused on helping the 42 million people nationwide who struggle with hunger in the United States.Â
