OAKLEY, Ill. (WAND) - A man is behind bars and accused of breaking into an Oakley woman's home and sexually assaulting her last month.

Oakley is just eight miles east of Decatur.

A sworn statement states that Macon County Sheriff's deputies were sent to a home on Center Street in Oakley just after 3 a.m. on March 18 for a criminal sexual abuse call.

Deputies arrived at the scene and were told by the victim that the suspect, later identified as David Mcgee, had broken glass on the front door and forced his way inside.

According to the sworn, the victim stated that she was woken up by Mcgee, naked in her bed, touching her sexually on the outside of her pants.

She told police that Mcgee was not welcome inside her home and grabbed a pair of scissors to defend herself. Her police statement continued, saying that Mcgee went into the kitchen to grab two large knives, but was not threatening her with them.

He then barricaded himself in the bathroom and told police he was smoking the rest of the drugs he had on him before leaving.

Mcgee was taken into custody at the Macon County Jail and remains there. He was charged with home invasion and criminal sexual abuse with prior convictions.

According to the sworn statement, Mcgee said in a Mirandaized interview that he had seen his girlfriend with another man earlier that night and began drinking. He said he later smoked various drugs.

He added that he hitchhiked to the victim's home and continued smoking drugs in her garage.

Mcgee stated that he knocked on the front door and broke into the home after getting no answer.

He added in the interview that he had planned to use the knives to hurt himself instead of the woman.

Court records show that Mcgee has been denied pre-trial release and will have a pre-trial hearing on May 5.
