JACKSONVILLE - The Morgan County Coroner's Office has announced that it is working with the Illinois State Police and Jacksonville Police Department to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash.

Authorities say a man was riding his motorcycle northbound on North Main Street in Jacksonville Sunday afternoon when he was struck by another vehicle.  The man, identified as Donnie Dickerson, 38, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:31 p.m.

Morgan County Chief Deputy Coroner Marcy Patterson says preliminary autopsy results reveal that Dickerson died as a result of traumatic neck and chest injuries sustained in the crash.  This incident is still under investigation.
