SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A 58-year-old man is dead following a motorcycle versus car accident on Monday in Springfield. 

The Sangamon County Coroner said the crash happened on Wabash Avenue. 

The coroner stated that the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he later died around 10:30 p.m. 

His identity will not be released until the family is notified. 

The investigation is ongoing.
