Shelbyville, IL- The US Army Corps of Engineers believes storm runoff may have contaminated the water at one beach at Lake Shelbyville.
Tests indicate that water quality at the beach in the Dam West Recreational area was poor.
The beach will remain closed until further notice and will reopen when water quality improves.
Rangers say they want swimmers to go to Sullivan and Wilborn beaches, both of which have good water quality.
Rangers say they plan to test the water in that area again later this week.
