BEMENT, Ill. (WAND) — STEM is taking over at Bement schools!
From elementary school to middle school, students can learn it all. Fourth grader Hayden Bregin thinks he could possibly work on robots in the future.
“Maybe I could work on robots because what happens if one robot gets down? I mean, it’s going to be taking a while for humans to make a robot that’s going to fix other robots,” said Bregin.
Eighth graders Sarah Hill and Emma Hostetler said the class has even improved their moods.
“I’m a lot more happier when I leave the class. Like we learn so much and we come in all tired and droopy because it’s early in the morning and then we leave like happier because we actually did stuff that we liked, and we learned stuff,” said Hill and Hostetler.
STEM Coordinator Linda Taylor believes these classes are important for children, especially at this age.
“Our kids now have to be prepared more than I was necessarily years ago. The world has changed, things are done differently, and I think these STEM classes help to prepare them for things that they’ll experience in the future,” said Taylor.
