DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — One person is hurt after a hit and run Friday night in Decatur. 

It happened just before 9 p.m. in the 700 block of N. Oakland Avenue. 

Decatur Police said, a 52 year old from Decatur was riding a bike south on Oakland Avenue and was hit by a black 2007 Pontiac Torrent.

The car drove away and headed south on Oakland Avenue to Cerro Gordo Street. The driver of the car hit a curb and that is when the driver ran away from the scene. 

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital and then airlifted to a regional trauma center with life threatening injuries.
