PANA, Illinois - If you didn't have the chance to take part in BLH Computers' recycling day in Pana Saturday, you'll soon have more opportunities. They will take place April 21. BLH will accept your old electronics from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the BLH Computers parking lot located at 534 North Jasper Street. You'll also be able to recycle your electronics at no cost from 7:30 AM until 2:30 PM at the Bryant Industries facility at 1406 Warrington Avenue just west of Danville.
Despite the spring showers people were able to help mother nature while doing some spring cleaning Saturday.
BLH Computers held an electronics recycling day in Pana Saturday afternoon.
People with TV's or computers could drop them off behind city hall free of charge.
Owner Brian Dickerson says recycling electronics is mandatory in Illinois thanks to a new law, which means an increase in recycling numbers for his company.
"On January 1st, you can no longer throw electronics in the trash, you have to recycle it. We'll probably end up collecting about 20-thousand pounds of electronics," says Dickerson.
BLH held four more recycling day events in central Illinois Saturday and they believe it will lead to about 100,000 pounds of electronics being recycled.
