DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Decatur's breakfast restaurant Blue Spoon is closed as of the July 29.
After five years and hundreds of plates, people lined up out the door to enjoy the last two days of the local favorite.
The owner says he opened the restaurant with the purpose of serving college kids, but the restaurant grew far beyond his expectations.
But Blue Spoon isn't going away forever, just for now. The owner says they are looking to buy land and open a new location.
They hope the new location will be bigger, able to sit more people.
Donovan Marschner, the owner of Blue Spoon had one last message: "I just want to thank everyone for the support. Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
