Boa constrictor found in Goodwill clothing donation

FORT WORTH, Tex. (WAND) – Goodwill workers were shocked to discover a big snake sitting in a donation delivery.

Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth in Texas discovered the snake Thursday in a sorting center, NBC Dallas Fort-Worth reports, where it was seen at one point hanging over the side of a bin. Leaders believe someone dropped it off at one of 40 donation locations before it ended up in the center, but they don’t know whether it happened on purpose. The animal arrived with a clothing donation.

Goodwill Assistant Manager James Murphy, who luckily has experience with exotic animals, stepped in to handle the snake. Goodwill still has it on Friday and is in the process of finding the owner. If the owner can’t be located, Goodwill plans to find it a new permanent home.

Snakes like the albino boa constrictor Goodwill found aren’t poisonous but still carry a strong bite.
