DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A boarded up home caught fire in Decatur Monday night. 

The Decatur Fire Department responded to the 700 block of West Packard St. just after 10 p.m. for a house on fire. 

Heavy fire was showing from the back of the 2-story home when crews arrived. The fire was extending up into the 2nd floor and attic. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control and extinguished in about 30 minutes.

No one was inside the house.

The house was determined to be vacant and boarded up.

Ameren was notified to secure the gas meter and power. 

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was called to help DFD investigators. The cause is currently under investigation.
