RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) – A man accused of leaving a bomb, child and dog alone in a car now faces charges.
Jeremiah Bridges, 38, now faces charges for endangering the life of a child, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of an explosive.
Rantoul police say they discovered the alleged bomb, the animal and a 12-year-old boy, along with weapons and ammunition, in a truck Wednesday morning near the intersection of U.S. Route 45 and Letchworth Avenue. Officers spent the day chasing down Bridges before making the arrest.
A bomb squad removed the possible bomb from the truck and took it to a remote place to make sure it wasn’t dangerous.
The investigation into the Bridges case continues Thursday.
