WOODRIDGE, IL- An Illinois man faces murder charges after allegedly hitting his father in the head multiple times with a weed trimmer.
Yashesh Desai, 21, of the Chicago suburb of Woodridge, was charged with first degree murder Monday in connection to the death of his father.
Authorities say Desai used a weed trimmer to kill his 47 year-old father, Sanjiv Desai, as he slept early Sunday.
An Associated Press reports says that Woodridge Police were called to the home early Sunday after receiving a 911 call from a family member saying Yashesh Desai had just killed his father.
On Yashesh Desai's Facebook page, he lists himself as a student at the University of Illinois, studying chemical and bimolecular engineering.
Other reports say Desai was kicked out of the university last year.
