DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A new business has launched in Downtown Decatur, located between Anna Thai and Hotshots. The Hostetler is a new event venue, run by CM Catering.

Nick Cox, current owner and executive chef at Coney McKane's, also owns the Hostetler. While they complete renovations at the new building, they are preparing catering at Coney McKane's for event rentals.

"We're working this in kind of phases," Cox said. "So the first phase is having the space available for rental while catering Coney's. The second phase will be offering the catering here in-house. The third phase is to be able to offer off-site catering, which would include other venues in town."

The building is named for the family Cox said developed the land the building was constructed on. The building can hold up to 99 people and can be booked for business meetings, birthday parties, wedding receptions, or other events.  He hopes to host unique events that will draw people downtown.

"When people say there's not enough to do in Decatur, we like to give them some unique experience to try out here," Cox said. "We're going to be offering not only rental space and catering, but also private chef's dinners, wine tastings, holiday event gatherings, some kitchen conservatory classes, some different things to give people things to do."

Cox has owned Coney McKane's for three years and has seen Downtown Decatur experience some big changes during that time. He is excited that more buildings downtown are being used and not left empty.

Cox added the space has already been booked for a few events. For more information on the space, you can find them on social media or contact events@cmcateringdecatur.com
