MORRISONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A Christian County man accused of shaking and seriously hurting a child was denied pretrial release.Â
A charging document filed in the Christian County Circuit Court said Bryant Klee of Morrisonville shook the child on April 10, causing a "traumatic" brain bleed and a retinal hemorrhage. Morrisonville is about 22 minutes from Taylorville.Â
Court records show that Klee, 21, was charged with aggravated battery of a child under 13, causing great bodily harm or permanent disability.Â
This is a Class X felony, meaning Klee could be sentenced between six to 30 years in prison if convicted.Â
Klee pleaded not guilty to the charge on April 13. His next court appearance will be on May 26.Â
